“Life is fun when you can do something you enjoy, with people you enjoy doing it with! And I can truly say, this has been one of the most fun and rewarding projects for me personally and professionally!”
-Larry May | Facilities Senior Manager; Dell, Inc.
Beginning in 2001, project work on customer service centers in Idaho and Oregon and a demonstrated commitment to service and high design led to selection for work on a new Dell service center in Panama. Since then, CTA and Dell have partnered on unique architecture and engineering projects at locations worldwide: Mexico, El Salvador, Slovakia, and Morocco, to name a few. The largest and most specialized effort to date has been Dell’s one-of-a-kind, 84,745 sq. ft. Silicon Valley Research and Development Center in Santa Clara, CA, which merged three newly-acquired software engineering companies into a single, modern, collaborative environment.
Over the years, CTA has taken on non-traditional roles for Dell, ranging from acting as an owner’s rep in negotiations and construction hirings to purchasing and transporting urgently-needed building materials. As Dell has grown and changed, so has CTA; it’s been the ability of CTA’s team members to consistently understand and adapt to every one of Dell’s needs that has fostered longstanding mutual trust. “We find ways to make their life easier,” Scott Wilson, CTA President and a long-time electrical engineer and project manager on Dell work, said. “And we’ve never said no. We’ve always figured out a way to make it happen.”
In 2015 and 2016, CTA will be hard at work on Dell projects throughout the Americas.
