This project is aimed at mitigating flood risks and improving fish habitat along an urban reach of Fleshman Creek, which flows through a former side channel of the Yellowstone River through Livingston, Montana. This project is being funded using FEMA pre-disaster flood mitigation, MT DNRC Reclamation and Development Grants Program, National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, and Montana Fish and Wildlife Conservation Trust grants along with in-kind contributions from Park County, Trout Unlimited and the Livingston School District. With the primary focus of the project involving the improvement of hydraulic conveyance at higher flow levels, the project will consist of approximately one mile of creek restoration, including the replacement of six road crossings. As a secondary focus, fish and aquarian habitats will also be drastically improved throughout this reach of stream.
