CTA has enjoyed a 20-year partnership with Stockman Bank of Montana, creating a dozen new banks as well as numerous additions and renovations. Having its roots in agriculture, Stockman had facilities in rural Eastern Montana communities. In the early 1990s, Stockman Bank (FirstWest Bank at the time) selected CTA to design its first “urban” bank.
Working with the bank leadership, CTA led the creation of an architectural aesthetic that was both respective of the bank’s agricultural heritage and appropriate in its new urban locales. Masonry construction, utilizing polychrome brick and stone, recalls the permanence and presence of banks in the historic West. Curving walls, expanses of glass and metal eyebrows integrate contemporary aesthetic into the traditional forms. The resulting brand identity is iconic and unmistakably Stockman.
